Interview with Mike Gentile
We're working on bringing you lots more fun interviews
so stay tuned!! :)
CassIsBadass got the inside scoop on what Cassadee Pope was like when she was younger! HUGE thanks to Cassadee’s Mom ‘Mama Pope’ for answering a few questions.
Here’s our interview with Cass’s mom:
1. What were the girls like growing up?They were both very sweet little girls. Cassadee believe it or not up until about 4 or 5 years old was really shy. Once she outgrew the shyness though she was little miss personality and everyone’s best friend. Ashley was very outgoing from the moment she could talk and she talked A LOT! I think she got her name on the board for talking every single day of her Kindergarten school year. When they were younger Cass was more the tom boy and Ash was more the girly girl.
2. What’s your favorite story from when Cassadee & Ashley were younger?
I don’t really have a “story” that came to mind but a few little memories just flashed back when I read this question. Ashley called Santa Clause Santa CLOSET for the longest time. Oh, and a bathing suit was a bathing SOUP ha-ha! She’s going to kill me!
Cassadee spoke every word with perfecT diction, her T”s especially and it was THE cutest thing to hear her talk.
3. What is your funniest
baby memory of Cassadee?
She
would climb on EVERYTHING. Ashley had a collection of precious
memories and Cass would climb up on the dresser and knock them all down
on a daily basis. One time I couldn’t find her, I was calling her name
and she wasn’t answering me. She had climbed up the tree outside in our
yard and was hiding. She thought it was funny, at the time I did not.
But now looking back, it makes me laugh!
4. Do you
remember the first time Cassadee sang in front of an audience, can you
tell me about it? What song did she sing, How old was she etc?
She was about 5 years old and she sang a beautiful song called “Little
Flowers” in a talent competition. When the winner was announced and they
said Cassadee Pope she looked at me and said “Me?!” as if she heard the
wrong name. It was precious :)
5. You must be so proud
of everything she has accomplished, of all those things, which one
stands out the most?
I am very proud of her for everything
she has accomplished in her career as well as personally. She is a
wonderful daughter and I could not be more proud of the amazing young
lady she has become.
6. How do you feel about Cassadee
being on a bus full of just boys?
ha-ha those boys are like
her brothers so I am fine with it. Besides, have you SEEN her left
hook? ;)
7. How
do you cope with Cassadee being away
from home for so long?
It’s tough and we miss her
terribly. We talk at least once a day even if it’s just a quick text to
say hi. I watch a lot of you tube videos of their performances which
is the next best thing to being there. And as much as I miss her when
she is gone, the fact that she is out there fulfilling her dream makes
me very happy.
8. What
is your favorite Hey Monday song?
Oh wow, I love them ALL! If I had to choose one right now it
would probably be “Wish You Were Here”.
9. What are your
thoughts on the CassIsBadass fan source?
It’s amazing.
Kristy you are doing such a fantastic job! I know you put a lot of long
hours into this and I want you to know much we appreciate everything
you do.
10. If there’s
anything else you’d like to add
or comment on for Cassadee’s fans, here’s the spot to do it in.
To
the fans..THANK YOU so much for all of the love and support you give to
Cassadee and the rest of Hey Monday. I know that she appreciates each
and every one of you. She loves what she does and she wouldn’t be able
to do it without you. <3
